When you join SCI New Zealand, you join with this country's progressive and concerned sportspeople who form the membership of our hunting conservation organisation active here since 1990. SCI New Zealand is an organisation that cares about responsible hunting and conservation and we are striving toward these goals here.

Credentials: Members receive a wallet-sized individual membership card

Recognition: All New Zealand members are welcome to submit their trophies for inclusion in the New Zealand Trophy Register.  I nter n ational Members may also enter their trophies in SCI Tucson's Record book of Trophy Animals and participate in various award programs.

Hunter Access: All members are encouraged to take advantage of the SCI New Zealand Hunter Access Program where hunting opportunities are made available to our SCI New Zealand members.

Publications: All members receive our award winning, quarterly Safari News magazine. NZ International Members also receive the bi-monthly magazine from Tucson, the Safari Magazine, and monthly the newspaper, Safari Times.

Reports: NZ International Members may request from Tucson, hunter submitted reports on International guides and their operations help you make the right decision.

PURPOSE & INTENT

• a To promote good fellowship among all who love the outdoors and hunting
• b To promote conservation of the world's renewable wildlife resources, recognizing hunting as one of the many management tools.
• c To educate youth, sportsmen and the public in conservation of o ur wildlife and our forests which are our natural heritage
• d To share our hunting experiences and information among our membership
• e To operate the association, consistent with its charitable purposes, while providing enjoyment for our members, always with the goal of helping to conserve the animals that we love to hunt today - for those who will come to love the sport tomorrow.

• CODE OF ETHICS

All members are expected to abide by the Code of Ethics.

Recognising their responsibilities as a hunter to wildlife, to the habitat necessary to its survival, and to future generations, and accepting these principals of superior sportsmanship promulgated by Safari Club International.

They pledge:

1. - That they shall unfailingly conduct themselves in the hunting field so as to make a positive contribution to the welfare of both game and non-game species of wildlife, as well as to the ecosystems they occupy.
2. - That they shall never cease to try to improve their personal skills in bushmanship and marksmanship,  to assure humane harvesting of wildlife surpluses and to avoid waste of those precious resources.
3. - That they will comply with all laws regulating wildlife harvest and shall accept their responsibility to provide all possible assistance to Conservation and Fish and Game enforcement officers.
4. - That they shall always, by word and behaviour, reflect only credit upon the great fraternity of sportsmen-hunters,  and demonstrate their abiding respect for the game,  for its habitat,  for their fellow hunters and those who will come after them,  and for the property,  whether private or public,  whereupon they are privileged to hunt.
5. - That they will waste no opportunity to teach young people, by their personal example and otherwise, full meaning and practice of this Hunters Code of Ethics.

MEMBERSHIP CLASSES AND FEES

Membership Acceptance - All Membership is subject to acceptance of their application for Membership by the Executive of this Association.

- (Voting) NZ and International - A person must be of good moral character,  provide sufficient evidence, if required,  as to his/her character and have demonstrated an active interest in both hunting and conservation.  Receives all publications from SCI International and SCI New Zealand.  May vote in all elections and submit trophies to both The SCI Record Book and the New Zealand Trophy Register.   Annual Cost NZ$210.00 - Renewals only from SCI-Membership, Tucson, AZ, USA
- NZ Chapter Only - Be a person of any age of good moral character, be able to provide sufficient evidence, if required, as to his/her character and have demonstrated an active interest in both hunting and conservation. Has voting rights and shall be registered only with the New Zealand Chapter.  Will receive only New Zealand Chapter publications and may submit trophies to the New Zealand Trophy Register.   Annual Cost NZ$60.00 - Renewals with SCI NZ Secretariat in Christchurch
- (Non voting) Memberships - There are 3 classes of unqualified Membership.  None shall have voting rights in this Association and shall only be registered with the New Zealand Chapter and therefore only receive New Zealand Chapter publications.

- Associate Membership - Associate Membership: Any person or organisation, whether or not a member of Safari Club International may become a member of this Chapter providing they have a supportive interest in hunting and conservation.  Annual Cost NZ$60.00

- Junior Membership - Any person who shall not have reached his/her 18th  birthday on the 30 June of that year,  be of good moral character,  provide sufficient evidence, if required,  and have demonstrated an active interest in hunting and conservation.  Annual Cost NZ$20.00

- Family Memberships - Be a family satisfying all criteria for membership and will include: Two (2) New Zealand Chapter Memberships; And as many dependent family members, using the same address, but receiving only one set of SCI(NZ) correspondence per household.

- NZ International Family Membership $240

- NZ Family Membership $90
