BOW HUNTERS AND BLACK POWDER ENTHUSIAST It was decided that in the trophy register, bow hunters and black powder hunters would have their entries in the same section as other hunters, however, their entries would be marked with an asterisk to denote that they had been taken with other than a conventional firearm. FREE RANGE The Trophy Register is restricted to “ HELICOPTERS Over recent times, the helicopter has been used extensively by hunters, to gain access to hunting areas. It is now recognised as a legitimate time saving form of transport. In preparing the following rules, it has not been the wish of SCI (NZ), to place restrictions on its members regarding this legitimate use of helicopters. Rather it is the intention to try and stop unethical hunting practices.
RULES GOVERNING THE USE OF HELICOPTERS 1. Helicopters/aircraft may only be used for the transport, and ferrying in of hunters and/or equipment directly into the campsite of the area where the hunt is to take place. 2.
